You got a pull on the wool

While i nodded at the wheel

But i keep my cool

In fact just call Me mR. FREEZE

For i’m so good at apathy

It becomes

A contagious dizeaze

It is but

An end to these means

It is not

Whatever it seems

Burst apart

From your seAMs

It’s not about the smartest
Nor the best
It’s about being you
We all feel this pain
In some varied way
Nerve-ending interpretations
No two the same
Imagine a day
With every name
& every story wrote
Into a book of life
Before turning the page

Before I begin, I would like to say, this is not one-of-those pretentious/opinionated pieces pretending to have all the answers. There are no answers here, merely observations.

Gun control has become a major issue that I have tried to avoid. I have avoided it because I find it difficult to offer my full support to either side of this debate.

Many of the second amendment supporters deliver sound points about personal liberty, only to spiral into racism and hysteria. Many of the gun control supporters have good intentions at heart; only to regress into the belief, that the best way to keep everyone safe is to regulate every aspect of human activity in order to ensure democracy. As I cannot offer my full support to either side of this debate, I felt it was wiser to stay out of it. However, this has escalated into an issue effecting everyone.

I will never be able to own a gun for I have been branded a felon; though, I have never committed a violent crime, nor have I ever been accused of being a risk to anyone other than myself. My felony is a direct result of the pseudo-war on drugs. This has become a manufactured crisis to strip away the rights of the poor. The majority of which are minorities. It has evolved into an undercover attempt at gun control that targets a specific group of people.

Those against gun control cite many reasons to keep guns in the hands of the public. There is the hunting argument. To protect oneself and private property is another reason. Some believe anarchy will break out as the economic depression sinks to new depths, and after the circus FEMA orchestrated at Katrina, many do not want to count on the federal government for protection. To me, the most important reasons to support gun control reflect the trust we have in our government.

There are those that trust the government to be the sole possessors of firepower.

There are those that do not.

What is pissing me off are the rich people with armed bodyguards that say it is ridiculous for the American public not to trust the government to protect them.

I also think if children’s photographs can be paraded about, to further political agendas on gun control, we should be able to display publicly, the thousands of photographs that show all the children that have died because of drone attacks. I’d like to see the president shed a few tears for them.

This makes one wonder why these politicians try so hard for an academy award nomination one minute before carpet-bombing a known domestic area filled with women and children. Yes, this type of activity can be documented. This is why it’s hard for me to believe the bleeding heart routine delivered by the government. Nevertheless, I do believe the majority of the American public that support gun control are sincere.

Why is it okay for us to flood other countries with arms that kill innocent civilians elsewhere? Why are the American children the only ones that matter?

Our military industrial complex is out of control. We are light years beyond any other military. We spend hundreds of billions more on our military than Russia and China. We continue to do so while cutting programs for the poor, infrastructure, arts, and education. Talk about something in need of gun control.

I wish we could do away with guns entirely and go back to hand-to-hand combat. If someone has the desire to commit violence upon another living being, let us witness a show of his or her conviction. We should draw up a mandate that requires the government officials quick to send other peoples’ children off to die, in wars only a select few profit from, to participate personally in the wars these monsters help cultivate.

It breaks you down; giving so much of yourself away to someone that could care less about you in return. However, I dealt out a lot of that kind of thing during the bad years; so, I chalk it up to karma. Still it hurts. I read so many similar, disgruntled posts. Which gets one wondering, if we’re all so upset about being treated like shit, who are all these people dealing out the shit? I assume it is us all just taking turns on each other.

Which brings me to the most simple, yet the ultimate commandment of the New Testament: to love one another.

I’ve been looking and I can’t find one thing that says to only love people who don’t have substance abuse problems, or that have money, or believe in the same thing that you do, or are not gay.

In fact, I may be wrong, but I can’t find one thing in from the traditional Gospels that Jesus said against homosexuality. And I am not talking about the writings of Paul, or any of the latter letters from the New Testament, just what Jesus said. He did speak a lot about sexual immorality (the better to go with one eye lesson). I’m not saying he supported it. But he didn’t target gay activity specifically. If anyone can find anything in the three Coptic Gospels, I’ll change my stance.

As far as Paul goes, he also said that a woman should never be in a position of authority in a congregation and that a woman must always wear her hair long to cover her face in shame for the original sin of Eve.

The Old Testament did say a lot about homosexuality. But it also treated slaves as private property, was in favor of genocide, labeled a woman as unclean if she spilled a drop of menstrual blood, and any man that discharged a drop of semen that wasn‘t intended to conceive was also to be considered unclean.

I am talking about the new law, not the old.

When Jesus was asked how better to follow him, he said, sell ALL of your belongings and give the proceedings to the poor.

Try selling that one to this Black Friday culture.

Never mind that hungry homeless guy you drive by on your way to work everyday. Just worry about swear words and the Ten Commandments being posted everywhere. Leave the big things to the big boys.

Western Civilization has taken the teeth out of Christianity. Little by little, we lose credibility because of hypocrisy.

If you agree with any of this, start getting ready for the holidays. The Mahoning County Rescue Mission needs a lot of help for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Their funding is being cut left and right. Last year was a nightmare for them.

It is hard to love one another, it may be impossible, with so much hate in the heart. I’d do well to remember that.

We need no help in order to prolong the agony

This pain is real

No matter the mask put upon it

Contrary to the ostritch with his head in the sand

There is a whole safari of carnivores

Right outside his door

An array of mixed metaphors

Someone has to feed

All of these beasts

There is a law being considered to force people to purchase bicycle insurance if they want to ride a bike.

No shit.

What is that you say? It will never happen? Well, I remember when people said the same thing about automobile insurance.

What a wonderful idea.

Let us tax those poor bastards that can’t afford to drive. Then, they will have no way to get to work, have no choice but to sign up for the food stamp program, and then we can blame them for crashing the American economy, while the CEOs of the top banks sneak out the back door with sacks full of billions in cash.

The poor are being taxed to death.

The government takes thirty percent of every book I sell.

They take nineteen percent of every paycheck.

We got sales tax.

Forced to buy car insurance.

Come 2016, we’ll be forced to buy health insurance.

Everything we do is a potential fine.

Now bicycle insurance?

Are you fucking kidding me?

What’s next? A tax for breathing? Watch out for that carbon tax. Careful what you exhale.

Why not sleeping? What if while I was sleeping I started sleepwalking? And while I was sleepwalking, I hurt somebody else?

This is getting ridiculous.

I don’t understand why I have to pay into a system that I’m obviously not a part of in any way. I’ve had an abscess tooth for over eight months that I can’t get pulled. They tell me I’ll have to work until I’m nearly eighty to collect social security, if it’ll even be around then. They take my entire income tax. I’m treated like public enemy-number one by the law enforcement I help pay for.

There has to be a way to opt out of this system.
