Get a good bang
from this
firecracker here;
though,
it has a short fuse
& might blow up
in your face
before it leaves
your hands.

Iridescent
a prism
refracting
reflecting
myriad
of colors
without light
rendered dark
colorless
his little
heart beating
thousand times
every
minute while
searching for
her bright smile.

Envies the sun because
it brightens her day

Jealous of the moon for it
gives her a light in darkness

Despises skies that lay
over top of her

Detests the stars for falling
though never granting wishes

She makes him
feel as if
all this
bullshit
is worth it.

It will hurt me
more than
it will hurt heR

I love her
because i know
she loves me
for who I am
though she
never
said iT

I feel her
when she breathes
as she smiles
when she leaves
stays a while
grabs a hold
will not let gO

In love
with being
in lovE

So goes this
salvation
through soft skin
retribution
love can save us
but not all
only some

Only some
but not all
love can save us
retribution
through soft skin
salvation
so goes this

In love
with being
in lovE

Will not let go
grabs a hold
stays a while
when she leaves
as she smiles
when she breathes
i feel heR

Though she
never said it
for who i am
she loves me
because i know
i love heR

It will hurt her
more than
it will hurt mE

Her body circles my mind
like a shark
like the stars

Swirl around
the galaxies

/round a drain

Scar my self
for f
lesh
to keep her
beautiful

Pick her up
carry the pain
buried inside

But we know

Never will

Things be the same

Between us

Let breathe
let try
let be
let die

Let leave
if there
 do return
still care
will burn

 /lot more to poetry
than mere words;
no matter how
multi-syllabic
the verse
can/t be real
if truth
doesn/t hurt

Love has become our new magic
For each other we all perform
We pray the next is different
We always find out it’s a trick

Yet, stupid with astonishment
Desperate to know the secret
& against all admonishment
We still beg for enlightenment

Whether we’re shown or being told
The secret is always revealed
& so it changes how we feel
That magic grows tired & old

In fact that trick now makes us sick
Spinning spiral of the tragic
Nevermore, will it be the same
We only got ourselves to blame

Human hearts need to be deceived
It makes them beat & still believe
In miracles, through which they feed
But stories; absent tragedies
